Our approach

Bakewell helps people keep recipes they find online. Imported recipes are saved as structured data with a link to the original source so you can find and credit the creator. We respect creators’ rights and respond to notices of infringement.

Reporting infringement

If you are a copyright owner or authorised to act for one and believe content on or through Bakewell infringes your rights, send a notice to bakewellapp@gmail.com that includes:

Your name, address, phone number and email
A description of the work you say is infringed, with a link to the original
The location of the material you want removed (a link or a description that lets us find it)
A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner
Your physical or electronic signature

What we do

When we receive a complete notice we will act quickly to remove or disable access to the material and may notify the person who added it. We may also stop sharing a source’s content entirely if its owner asks us to.

Counter-notice

If you believe material was removed by mistake or misidentification, email bakewellapp@gmail.com with your contact details, a description of the removed material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts where you live. We may restore the material after a reasonable period unless the complainant tells us they have started legal action.
